Vice President of Finance

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead and manage all finance operations, encompassing accounting, accounts receivable/accounts payable, treasury, tax, risk management, warehouse/operations finance, and compliance.

• Report directly to the CEO and collaborate with Sales, Warehouse/Operations, HR, and eCommerce teams.

• Oversee treasury functions, payroll, financial coordination, and compliance matters.

• Establish processes, enhance systems, cultivate talent, and take full ownership of the finance function following a transition period.

• Supervise invoicing, customer billing structures, vendor payments, and month-end and quarterly closing processes.

• Manage relationships with external CPA firms, the board of directors, valuation companies, attorneys, and insurance providers.

• Direct annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, long-term financial planning, financial modeling, reporting dashboards, and forecasting systems.

• Provide performance updates and strategic insights to executive leadership.

• Assist in M&A evaluation and integration initiatives.

• Identify and implement financial and operational enhancements.

• Oversee payroll, multi-state sales tax filings, nexus tracking, 1099 audit requirements, and 401(k) compliance.

• Lead accounting, warehouse, and operations teams; build, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team.

• Standardize roles, responsibilities, and processes across the finance function.

• Assess, select, and implement scalable finance and accounting systems.

• Optimize QuickBooks, Avalara, payroll, budgeting, and forecasting tools.

• Utilize financial API/AI integrations and enhance warehouse/inventory financial controls.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting.

• Minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership position (CFO, VP Finance, or Controller).

• Proven experience in supporting budgeting, forecasting, long-term financial planning, and executive-level reporting.

• Strong treasury management skills, including cash flow planning and conservative liquidity management.

• Experience in managing commission and bonus calculations and reporting for a commission-based sales team.

• Background in overseeing payroll operations and ensuring multi-state tax/nexus compliance.

• Experience in implementing and enhancing QuickBooks, ERP platforms, Excel, and Power Query.

• Solid understanding of billing structures, invoicing, accounts receivable/accounts payable oversight, and revenue alignment.

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Experience in promotional products, branded merchandise, or a similar sector is advantageous.

• M&A experience is a plus but not mandatory.

• CPA or MBA is preferred.
