Vice President of Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Define and lead the overarching product design vision, user experience strategy, and visual standards across the complete enterprise product portfolio.

• Innovate design approaches for AI-driven workflows, intricate data visualizations, and decision-support systems within critical operational environments.

• Advocate for user-centered design methodologies and comprehensive usability testing to enhance complex enterprise software workflows.

• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Data leadership to ensure that technical architecture and functional roadmaps are in sync with user requirements.

• Develop, mentor, and expand a top-tier design organization that encompasses UI/UX, user research, design systems, and AI design sub-disciplines.

• Establish the comprehensive design strategy for Air's AI-driven Enterprise Readiness platform.

• Report directly to the Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO).

⛳️ Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.

• 10-15 years of experience in leading design teams within complex software environments, including a minimum of 5+ years in executive design leadership roles.

• Proven history of design leadership in AI-driven platforms, intricate analytics, or enterprise SaaS applications.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with executive leadership in Product, Engineering, and Data Science.

• Extensive knowledge in human-computer interaction (HCI), user research methodologies, and the optimization of complex workflows.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Experience thriving in the fast-paced environment of a high-growth startup.

• Current U.S. security clearance, or the capability to obtain one with our support.

• Experience in transitioning the design function into an AI-native software development lifecycle (SDLC) framework.

• Experience creating solutions for defense, government, or public sector agencies.

• Background in complex supply chain, logistics, or industrial operations platforms.
