This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Deliver corporate-level leadership for merchandising by overseeing product assortment, product development, national pricing routines, and management.
• Collaborate with regional leaders, sales, merchandising, and finance teams across SSMG & USBL to enhance assortment revenue and margin outcomes.
• Implement pricing and margin routines while conducting analyses to offer strategic recommendations.
• Customize market strategies for SSMG & USBL to maximize revenue and margin.
• Assess SSMG contracts, pricing structures, and margins.
• Generate and proactively share insights to support local, national, and internal sales growth strategies.
• Advance commercialization initiatives.
• Oversee the product lifecycle by leading the merchandising team.
• Identify internal and external conversion opportunities.
• Develop demand planning capabilities.
• Direct SKU rationalization, standardization, and cleanup efforts.
• Establish standards for protein product capabilities across all regions.
• Collaborate with SSMG & USBL on new product introductions and define product capabilities.
• Create and implement co-pack/retail strategies (Pro-Link).
• Assess the RTE strategy.
• Manage sourcing strategy for SSMG with a spend exceeding $2.5 billion.
• Work closely with the GSC team on merchandising initiatives.
• Specify consistent national/local assortment and good/better/best category management.
• Develop sourcing strategies for aggregated purchases, lower COGS, and uniformity for national clients.
• Formulate sourcing strategies that include suspended fresh/frozen products.
• Aggregate demand for both local and national business to leverage scale effectively.
• Streamline SKUs and enhance descriptions and images.
• Standardize costing and establish national pricing for USBL/CBL.
• Manage margins, prevent leakage, and secure market gains.
• Identify internal product conversion opportunities.
• Build product capabilities across poultry, seafood, RTC, and grinds.
• Innovate new products and capabilities.
• Oversee national and local pricing strategies.
• Formulate a commercial sales strategy for USBL in alignment with sales enablement and merchandising.
• Monitor market trends to enhance market share.
• Negotiate and oversee local-level programs.
• Manage projections and budgets.
• Bachelor's Degree.
• Expertise in protein.
• 15+ years of progressive experience in Merchandising or Retail Consulting, or senior leadership positions within the meat industry.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical capabilities.
• Experience in managing local OpCo assortment to address sales demands and support category growth initiatives.
• Ability to monitor the market to boost market share.
• Capability to negotiate and manage local-level programs.
• Experience in projection and budget management.
