This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Provide high-level leadership and direction for the organization's HR operations.
• Establish, implement, and assess HR policies, procedures, and best practices that comply with legal standards.
• Design and manage HR plans and procedures.
• Assist the COO with compensation strategies, job descriptions, and compensation analyses.
• Oversee and facilitate the performance evaluation program.
• Create and uphold personnel policies and the employee handbook.
• Maintain the HRIS, provide training for managers on its operation, and oversee vendor relationships.
• Lead and assist the Cultural and Communication Committee, including annual planning and budget oversight.
• Enhance training, organizational culture, and interdepartmental relationships.
• Manage benefits administration, oversee third-party vendors and enrollment, and assess the cost-effectiveness of programs.
• Handle the relationship and negotiations with the benefits broker.
• Process payroll and address payroll discrepancies.
• Oversee recruitment efforts for exempt, nonexempt, intern, and temporary positions.
• Craft and publish job advertisements, participate in career fairs, screen and interview candidates, conduct reference checks, extend job offers, and manage onboarding and orientation.
• Develop and sustain employee learning and professional development initiatives.
• Provide guidance to management on employee relations, counseling, disciplinary actions, and termination procedures.
• Resolve intricate employee conflicts.
• Engage external legal counsel as necessary.
• Manage HR and C3 budgets.
• Maintain departmental and employee records and reports.
• Create and disseminate the monthly HR Connections Newsletter.
• Organize updates for staff meetings and coordinate offsite all-staff gatherings.
• Collaborate with executive leadership on the organization's mission, goals, and talent management strategies.
• Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment regulations.
• Support the organization's overarching business goals and mission.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
• Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
• PHR or SPHR certification is required.
• Eight to ten years of human resources experience in a leadership capacity.
• Proven experience in effectively supporting and working in a remote work setting.
• Strong self-motivation, organizational skills, and ability to prioritize tasks.
• Capable of meeting deadlines and managing shifting priorities independently.
• Ability to work efficiently and resourcefully with little supervision.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Competence in using proprietary systems and other technologies.
• Proven ability to negotiate contracts.
• Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding employee and client information.
• Physically capable of sitting for extended periods, operating computer equipment, and participating in training sessions, presentations, and meetings.
