Vice President – Head of Lending Operations

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Direct and manage the complete lending operations from the initial loan intake and structuring through to processing, title review, closing, and readiness for funding.

β€’ Offer both strategic and day-to-day leadership across the areas of Credit Structuring and Intake, Pipeline and Processing, Title, and Closing.

β€’ Define ownership, service expectations, escalation protocols, performance metrics, and accountability throughout the lending lifecycle.

β€’ Track pipeline visibility, file progression, aging, outstanding conditions, capacity constraints, operational risks, and potential delays.

β€’ Supervise loan submission reviews, completeness assessments, eligibility evaluations, credit structuring, recommendations, and the escalation of risks and exceptions.

β€’ Ensure that each file has a designated owner, current status, documented next steps, and target dates.

β€’ Manage title requirements, title documentation, lien details, title defects, ownership discrepancies, exceptions, and vendor performance.

β€’ Oversee the preparation and execution of closings, approval conditions, document readiness, closing coordination, funding readiness, and post-closing transitions.

β€’ Create and maintain standard operating procedures, quality control measures, scalable workflows, and corrective action plans.

β€’ Enhance lending systems, workflow automation, reporting, data accuracy, and user engagement through Information Operations.

β€’ Act as the primary operational liaison among Lending Operations, Sales, Underwriting, Legal, Finance, Information Operations, and executive leadership.

β€’ Provide executive leadership with insights on pipeline activity, anticipated closings, operational risks, staffing requirements, and performance trends.

β€’ Lead, mentor, develop, and hold accountable team members across lending operations functions.

β€’ Set goals, organizational structures, staffing levels, career development opportunities, performance evaluations, training programs, and succession planning.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ A bachelor's degree in business, finance, real estate, operations, or a related field.

β€’ Substantial progressive experience in lending operations, commercial real estate lending, mortgage banking, private lending, or a related financial services setting.

β€’ Proven leadership experience managing multiple lending functions or an end-to-end loan operations platform.

β€’ Strong knowledge of loan intake, credit structuring, processing, title, closing, loan documentation, and funding preparation.

β€’ Experience in managing complex loan pipelines and resolving issues related to borrowers, collateral, title, documentation, approvals, and closing requirements.

β€’ Proven ability to design and execute operating procedures, performance standards, controls, and scalable workflows.

β€’ Strong analytical capabilities and the ability to utilize operational data to identify risks, evaluate performance, and inform decisions.

β€’ Familiarity with loan origination systems, workflow management platforms, reporting tools, and process automation.

β€’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in communicating with executive leadership.

β€’ Capability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with shifting priorities and time-sensitive transactions.

β€’ Direct experience in a Non-QM mortgage company is highly preferred.

β€’ Experience in leading managers and geographically distributed or international teams is preferred.

β€’ An advanced degree is preferred.
