Vice President, FP&A

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the annual budgeting process, long-term planning, rolling forecasts, and strategic initiatives.

• Create comprehensive financial models that integrate revenue, margins, operating expenses, headcount, capital expenditures, cash flow, and balance-sheet metrics.

• Develop driver-based forecasting for both B2B and B2C business frameworks.

• Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate growth investments, pricing strategies, cost actions, and strategic options.

• Collaborate with senior executives on operational plans, performance objectives, and actionable KPIs.

• Assess actual performance, forecast discrepancies, business drivers, risks, and opportunities.

• Simplify complex data into actionable insights for senior leadership, the board, and investors.

• Analyze customer economics, including pricing, volume, retention, customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, and unit margins.

• Direct resource allocation and investment decisions through financial analysis and anticipated returns.

• Provide financial guidance for initiatives, product launches, market expansions, and cost restructuring.

• Assist CFO and CEO in communicating with the board, private equity investors, and lenders.

• Prepare board materials, investor reports, and regular performance updates.

• Monitor value-creation plans and advise on necessary corrective measures.

• Supervise cash generation, liquidity, leverage, covenants, and debt repayment strategies.

• Facilitate M&A, refinancing, and transactions through modeling, due diligence, synergy analysis, and integration oversight.

• Modernize FP&A methodologies, systems, data management, and analytics.

• Identify and apply practical AI and machine learning solutions for forecasting, variance analysis, scenario modeling, and reporting.

• Collaborate with Finance and IT to establish reliable data sources, scalable reporting, and uniform metrics.

• Automate manual reporting processes and transition FP&A towards forward-looking analysis.

• Foster AI and data literacy within the finance team.

• Lead, recruit, and retain a highly effective FP&A team.

• Define team roles, priorities, service expectations, and career development pathways.

• Adapt the FP&A operating model as the organization evolves.

• Enhance financial understanding among non-financial senior leaders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration.

• MBA, CPA, or CFA designation is preferred.

• Extensive finance experience with senior leadership responsibilities in enterprise FP&A.

• Proven history of managing budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and supporting senior leadership decision-making.

• Significant experience in both B2B and B2C sectors is strongly preferred.

• Background in a private equity-owned or highly leveraged organization is advantageous.

• Solid understanding of three-statement modeling, cash flow, liquidity, and working capital analysis.

• Experience in supporting boards, investors, lenders, and senior leaders.

• Ability to link operational drivers and customer behavior directly to financial outcomes.

• Familiarity with modernizing planning platforms, BI tools, data environments, automation, and AI solutions.

• Experience in leading financial system or FP&A transformation projects is preferred.

• Strategic mindset capable of balancing broad visions with detailed operational insights.
