This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Develop and take responsibility for the US Field Medical strategy, operating model, and annual field medical plan.
• Create MSL territory deployment, segmentation methodologies, and resource models for pre-launch, launch, and post-launch phases.
• Set field medical objectives, KPIs, and frameworks for performance measurement.
• Lead scenario planning for field expansion in accordance with labeling, geographic, and lifecycle milestones.
• Build, guide, and retain a high-performing national MSL organization, including Field Medical Directors and regional leaders.
• Recruit, onboard, mentor, and develop MSL talent; create career pathways, competency models, and succession plans.
• Promote scientific excellence, compliance, accountability, and cross-functional collaboration across a geographically diverse team.
• Oversee departmental budgets, field technology tools, and vendor partnerships.
• Act as a senior field-facing scientific leader in allergy and immunology, particularly in food allergy, immune tolerance mechanisms, and EPIT™.
• Direct field medical engagement toward the allergy/immunology and pediatric allergy communities.
• Represent DBV field medical at allergy/immunology congresses and maintain scientific credibility with leading allergists and immunologists.
• Ensure compliant scientific exchanges with external experts, treating clinicians, and healthcare systems.
• Personally engage with senior external experts and academic thought leaders.
• Oversee field medical support for congresses, medical advisory boards, and investigator-facing activities.
• Design and implement the field insight-generation system, translating insights into strategic recommendations.
• Contribute field perspectives to evidence generation planning and publication/congress strategies.
• Lead Field Medical launch readiness for Viaskin Peanut, including scientific training, disease-state education, and territory activation.
• Prepare field capabilities for future indications and geographic expansion.
• Ensure adherence to regulations, guidelines, and company policies governing scientific exchanges.
• Collaborate with Legal and Compliance to define, train, and supervise field rules of engagement.
• Participate in the Medical Affairs leadership team and represent Field Medical in launch governance, executive reviews, and Board-facing medical updates.
• MD, PharmD, PhD, or another advanced scientific/clinical degree.
• Over 15 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with significant experience in Medical Affairs.
• Extensive leadership experience in Field Medical/MSL roles.
• Proven track record in leading leaders and geographically distributed teams.
• Experience managing a national or substantial regional Field Medical organization.
• Experience in developing Field Medical strategy rather than just executing an existing one.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, mentor, and retain high-performing MSLs and Field Medical leaders.
• Strong experience in engaging with senior external experts and academic thought leaders.
• Solid understanding of Medical Affairs compliance requirements and appropriate scientific exchanges.
• Scientific fluency in allergy and/or immunology sufficient to establish credibility with academic allergists, immunologists, and pediatric specialists.
• Preferred: previous experience as VP, Head of Field Medical, National Field Medical Lead, or equivalent senior leadership role.
• Preferred: experience in building or significantly transforming an MSL organization.
• Preferred: pre-launch and launch experience in biotechnology or specialty pharmaceuticals.
• Preferred: experience supporting a first or early commercial launch within a biotechnology organization.
• Preferred: experience in allergy, immunology, pediatrics, dermatology, or another relevant specialty-care environment.
• Preferred: experience with products that necessitate significant physician and patient education and behavioral change.
• Preferred: experience working within a small-to-mid-sized biotechnology organization.
• Experience in creating field metrics, insight-generation systems, segmentation methodologies, and territory deployment models.
• Critical competencies include designing field medical strategy and operating models, scientific credibility in allergy/immunology, MSL talent development, insight generation and analytics, territory deployment and segmentation, compliance judgment, matrix leadership, executive communication, change management, budget and vendor management.
