This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
β’ Take charge of and manage all construction activities within the US portfolio, spanning from pre-construction and site preparation to vertical construction, commissioning, energization, and project closeout.
β’ Establish and promote a culture of health, safety, and environmental responsibility across all sites and contractors, taking ownership of both leading and lagging indicators while striving for zero harm.
β’ Lead, mentor, and expand a team comprising construction directors, senior project managers, and site leaders.
β’ Hold teams accountable for campus capital expenditure budgets and collaborate with Cost Management and Finance on forecasting, contingency planning, and capital efficiency.
β’ Oversee the selection, contracting, mobilization, and performance assessment of general contractors, EPCs, and key trade partners.
β’ Collaborate with Data Center Scheduling to manage the integrated master schedule, safeguard critical path and energization deadlines, and lead recovery efforts when milestones are at risk.
β’ Assume responsibility for construction quality standards and inspection processes, and promote constructability and value engineering contributions in design.
β’ Ensure a smooth transition between construction, commissioning, and Operations for reliable facility handover.
β’ Coordinate utility works, substation delivery, and energization with Energy and Interconnection teams.
β’ Institutionalize construction standards, playbooks, and lessons learned across campuses.
β’ Report on construction status, risks, and capital performance to the SVP β Data Center Delivery, executive leadership, and the Board.
β’ Serve as the representative of IREN with local authorities, permitting agencies, and community stakeholders, fostering local workforce development and maintaining the company's social license to operate.
β’ Post-secondary education in a relevant field such as Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
β’ A Masterβs degree, MBA, or PMP certification is preferred.
β’ Over 15 years of progressive construction leadership experience, particularly in delivering mission-critical facilities, hyperscale data centers, or large-scale industrial, energy, or advanced manufacturing projects.
β’ Proven accountability for a construction portfolio with an annual capital spend exceeding $500M, or for multiple concurrent campuses at gigawatt scale.
β’ Successful experience leading a team of directors and senior managers across various geographies, including the rapid hiring and scaling of a construction organization.
β’ Extensive owner-side or general contractor experience throughout the full delivery lifecycle: pre-construction, procurement, civil and vertical construction, MEP installation, commissioning (L1βL5), integrated systems testing, and handover.
β’ Exceptional health and safety leadership record, with the ability to cultivate a safety culture within a large contractor workforce.
β’ Strong commercial and contractual knowledge, including familiarity with GMP, lump sum, and cost-plus delivery models, and the confidence to arbitrate high-value change orders.
β’ Working knowledge of data center electrical and mechanical systems, and understanding how utility interconnection and energization affect capacity availability dates.
β’ Experience collaborating with project controls, scheduling, and cost management functions, holding them to high standards.
β’ Highly proficient in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, and Outlook.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with executive leadership, service providers, and community members.
β’ Strong research and problem-solving abilities, with sound judgment under significant time and financial pressure.
β’ Superior time management and multitasking skills, coupled with a strong sense of urgency.
β’ A passionate and confident individual with proven organization, prioritization, and critical thinking abilities.
β’ Willingness to reside within a commutable distance from the West Texas operations and to travel frequently between Texas and Oklahoma sites.
