This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Lead and implement the firm’s growth strategy for government contracts in the public health sector.
• Act as a strategic and technical advisor, contributing to the firm's overall strategy and long-term vision.
• Provide organizational stewardship while managing VIP and strategic accounts.
• Own the growth strategy and targets; approve and authorize proposals prior to submission.
• Assist leadership and management in developing proposal and pitch strategies.
• Oversee AVPs, Senior Directors, and/or Senior Managers, ensuring accountability for team performance and development.
• Identify, capture, and secure state and local government contracts, including RFP responses, proposal development, and teaming arrangements.
• Maintain and grow the pipeline of opportunities with government entities.
• Oversee the creation and submission of compliant proposals for government contracts.
• Coordinate internal teams, subject matter experts, and subcontractors to ensure timely submission of proposals.
• Develop and implement the business development strategy focused on government contracts.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within state and local government agencies.
• Build, mentor, and lead a business development team.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with government officials, agency representatives, and key decision-makers.
• Represent the company and prepare internal teams for conferences, events, and meetings.
• Monitor trends in government contracting and public health, along with regulatory changes, competitive landscape, procurement forecasts, and intelligence.
• Achieve targeted sales and revenue growth in government contracting.
• Develop pricing strategies, negotiate contract terms, and facilitate contract renewals with the CEO and Managing Director.
• Collaborate with practice leadership, project delivery, finance, and legal teams to support post-award execution and regulatory compliance.
• At least 20 years of relevant experience in business development, sales, or management within a government contracting environment, preferably in a consulting firm.
• 12+ years of experience in people management and leadership development.
• 15+ years of client-facing and project leadership experience.
• Master of Public Health (MPH) or an equivalent graduate degree.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team in a fast-paced consulting environment.
• Alignment with BME’s shared values.
• Demonstrated success in securing and managing government contracts at state and/or local levels, including RFPs, proposals, and contract negotiations.
• Strong understanding of government procurement processes and relevant contracting guidelines, compliance, and regulations.
• Familiarity with public health agencies, topics, and trends is essential.
• Experience in local and regional public health is highly desirable.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building capabilities.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in CRM tools and government procurement platforms.
• Must be located within the U.S.
