Technical Business Development Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Identify and develop new business prospects within the capital equipment and optical coatings supply chain for intricate electronic components.

• Foster relationships with AI/AR Glass companies that require high-volume coating services, along with equipment and material suppliers, as well as research organizations.

• Assist customer qualification initiatives from initial contact through to commercialization.

• Facilitate technical and commercial discussions between customers and Vital’s global engineering and manufacturing teams.

• Create quotations, forecasts, and customer presentations.

• Keep track of industry trends and competitive activities, providing insights to management.

• Represent Vital during customer visits, conferences, and industry events.

• Collaborate with the marketing team to promote technical solutions.

⛳️ Requirements

• PhD in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related technical field.

• Over 5 years of experience with capital equipment utilized for optical coating.

• Strong technical proficiency coupled with an interest in business development and customer engagement.

• Exceptional communication and presentation abilities.

• Self-driven and well-organized.

• Comfortable collaborating with global teams.

• Preferred: Experience with capital equipment such as PECVD or ALD.

• Preferred: Experience in optics and AR/VR coatings.

• Preferred: Experience with optical coating services or 3D functional coatings.

• Willingness to travel approximately 25–40%, including international travel.
