Vice President, AI Access Initiative

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.

📋 Description

• Act as a key member of the executive leadership team, influencing organizational strategy, culture, and enterprise-wide priorities.

• Recruit and mentor a high-performing leadership team and staff.

• Foster a mission-driven culture that emphasizes scalability, thoughtfulness, and urgency.

• Develop learning frameworks with clear hypotheses, rigorous measurements, rapid iterations, and transparent reporting.

• Utilize cost-effectiveness evidence to inform resource allocation decisions.

• Create and manage open-sourced playbooks and insights.

• Define and implement ambitious strategies for Agriculture or Health portfolios, including vision, priorities, delivery models, and expansion plans.

• Design and execute fast-paced, rigorous pilot programs with strong measurement and feedback mechanisms.

• Monitor, test, and incorporate emerging AI-enabled tools and methodologies for Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs).

• Collaborate with technical and research teams to ground AI-driven strategies in evidence and local contexts.

• Connect AI labs, global development stakeholders, researchers, implementers, and regional governments.

• Tailor technical offerings for underrepresented languages, low-bandwidth environments, and last-mile contexts.

• Assist regional leaders in managing government relationships, adoption pathways, and policy facilitation.

• Oversee fundraising initiatives, grant development, and investment narratives.

• Represent 2AI in high-level public and private discussions.

⛳️ Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in building and leading programs in international development or related fields.

• Proven track record of scaling complex initiatives to national or regional levels in low- and middle-income countries.

• Developed new programs and organizational functions in 3-5 countries.

• Successfully scaled programs nationally across multiple countries.

• Recruited and nurtured top talent while fostering a culture of rigor and urgency.

• Preferred experience with AI-enabled solutions in the relevant areas, such as AI clinical decision support, digital health, telemedicine, AI in agriculture, digital agriculture, or agtech.

• Experience in fundraising or major donor engagement.

• Raised over $5M annually.

• Familiarity with the operations of African and/or Asian governments.

• Experience bridging technical and programmatic domains in global health delivery, agricultural extension, market-shaping, technology for development, or similar fields.

• Ability to facilitate communication between AI labs, researchers, delivery organizations, and government representatives.

• Strong understanding of cutting-edge AI tools and Large Language Models (LLMs).

• Practical application of AI in resource-constrained settings.

• Existing connections with major global health or agriculture funders are advantageous.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.; Evidence Action cannot sponsor or take over sponsorship of a U.S. employment visa.
