This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Ensure accountability for accurate, complete, and timely financial statements for the enterprise.
β’ Establish closing requirements and review results for monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial closes.
β’ Collaborate with the Senior Accountant and CFO/COO to address accounting issues and finalize closes.
β’ Oversee annual financial statement audits, coordinating audit strategies, resolving issues, and managing communications.
β’ Manage quarterly intercompany calculations and review supporting schedules and entries.
β’ Develop and uphold accounting policies, documentation, and internal controls related to financial reporting.
β’ Oversee budget-to-actual reporting and conduct variance analysis.
β’ Work with the CFO/COO and various departments on the annual budgeting process.
β’ Create and sustain the enterprise-wide long-term financial model.
β’ Direct re-forecasting and scenario planning initiatives.
β’ Lead enterprise-wide expense management and monitor spending.
β’ Provide financial analyses and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.
β’ Assist in preparing financial materials for boards and board committees.
β’ Set standards and controls for accounts payable, accounts receivable, bookkeeping, payroll-related finance activities, and other accounting processes.
β’ Approve vendor invoices and cash disbursements.
β’ Maintain relationships with external tax accountants and ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and sales tax regulations.
β’ Oversee the annual 409A valuation process and review accounting for stock-based compensation.
β’ Manage the company's capitalization table in collaboration with the operations team.
β’ Define finance priorities with the Senior Accountant and provide technical guidance.
β’ Assess and enhance financial systems, processes, and controls.
β’ Collaborate with Legal, Risk, Operations, and other departments to address financial, operational, and compliance risks.
β’ Extensive knowledge of US GAAP, financial reporting, technical accounting, close management, audits, tax coordination, and internal controls.
β’ Capability to build and maintain integrated financial models, leading budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and variance analysis across multiple entities or business segments.
β’ Strong business acumen and the ability to convert detailed financial information into actionable recommendations for senior leaders.
β’ Capacity to independently manage complex enterprise-wide projects, prioritize tasks, clarify uncertainties, and deliver precise results in a dynamic environment.
β’ Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare materials for senior executives, boards, and board committees.
β’ Strong cross-functional leadership and influencing abilities without formal reporting authority.
β’ Keen attention to detail, professional skepticism, and integrity.
β’ Hands-on, service-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate between strategic analysis and detailed execution.
β’ Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in finance and accounting.
β’ Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related discipline.
β’ Previous experience as a Controller, Senior Controller, or senior finance leader overseeing financial reporting and planning.
β’ Proficiency in GAAP and non-GAAP financial reporting and complex technical accounting issues.
β’ Experience in building or scaling finance capabilities in early-stage or growth-stage companies.
β’ Active CPA license preferred.
β’ Experience in public companies preferred.
β’ Background in Big Four public accounting or comparable fast-paced corporate environments preferred; experience in both is highly desirable.
β’ Experience in financial services, securities markets, exchanges, or venture-backed technology companies preferred.
