This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead the strategic planning and implementation of market access and health policy initiatives to support the launch and ongoing patient access to targeted TCR-based immunotherapies.
• Take ownership of site-of-care and provider economic strategies, encompassing MS-DRG adequacy, NTAP, ICD-10-PCS/CPT/HCPCS coding strategies, and acquisition models.
• Develop and oversee medical benefit coverage policies across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers.
• Formulate NCD/LCD strategies, medical policy criteria, prior authorization processes, and single case agreement pathways.
• Identify and address reimbursement and affordability challenges throughout the cell therapy patient journey.
• Act as the Market Access subject matter expert for executive leadership and senior management.
• Build and lead a Global Market Access organization that spans pipeline, clinical development, pre-launch, approval, and commercialization phases.
• Create and implement market access strategies related to pricing, coverage, reimbursement, distribution, and access.
• Incorporate payer value evidence requirements into clinical development plans and commercial strategies.
• Manage the value access plan, including obtaining early payer insights during the FDA pre-approval information exchange phase.
• Engage with payer organizations in negotiations to influence coverage and reimbursement policies.
• Collaborate with government and commercial payers, healthcare providers, patient advocacy groups, industry partners, and internal teams.
• Represent Immatics’ Market Access interests with collaboration partners.
• Coordinate with Commercial, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Legal, Finance, and Manufacturing teams on market access priorities.
• A bachelor's degree in a scientific field is required.
• A minimum of 20 years of experience in the biotechnology or innovator pharmaceutical sectors with progressively increasing responsibilities.
• Proven experience in launching products and building markets in the US is necessary.
• Extensive knowledge of healthcare systems, pricing and reimbursement processes, health economics, payer value propositions, billing and coding, specialty product sales, brand marketing, new product planning/lifecycle management, and regulatory landscapes.
• An MBA is strongly preferred.
• At least 15 years of experience in Market Access and Government Affairs and/or Health Policy roles.
• Global market launch experience is preferred.
• Direct experience in cell therapy, gene therapy, or other one-time or durable therapies is essential.
• Hands-on experience with site-of-care strategy, provider or institutional contracting, and medical benefit coverage is required.
• Preference for experience with restricted or authorized treatment center networks.
• Strong understanding of medical benefit reimbursement mechanics, including coding, coverage, and payment in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Experience collaborating with legal, compliance, medical affairs, regulatory, finance, and other cross-functional teams.
• Proven track record in leading cross-functional projects and/or teams and presenting to senior executives and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with US and international government agencies, including CMS, CMMI, FDA, and EMA.
• Knowledge of EU HTA Regulation Joint Clinical Assessment and ATMP reimbursement pathways is beneficial.
• Successful experience in small company and pre-commercialization settings is highly preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 30% of the time is required.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
