This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as a dedicated representative of the ASPCA at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine.
• Stay updated on ASPCA student externship opportunities and available resources.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with veterinary medicine students and campus student organizations.
• Share information regarding ASPCA initiatives, veterinary training externships, resources, and career pathways.
• Collaborate with the ASPCA Campus Relations Senior Manager concerning campus events and partnership opportunities.
• Provide support in organizing and executing campus events and activities alongside student groups.
• Introduce opportunities to student organizations and promote upcoming events.
• Create written communications about the ASPCA and its forthcoming events.
• Uphold academic excellence and prioritize educational commitments.
• Adhere to institutional rules and regulations.
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Strong commitment to the Mission and Core Values of the ASPCA.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to foster relationships with peers.
• Active participation in at least one student organization relevant to the core mission of the ASPCA.
• Not currently serving as a student ambassador for any other veterinary or animal welfare organization, non-profit, or company.
• Willingness to commit an average of 3 hours per week during the semester to fulfill the responsibilities of an ASPCA Student Ambassador.
• Capability to work independently (self-starter).
• High level of maturity and professionalism.
• Access to a computer for virtual meetings and email communication.
• Ability to temporarily store informational and promotional materials for distribution to CVM peers on campus.
• Proficiency in English (required).
• Currently enrolled as a veterinary medical student at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine; individuals not currently enrolled will not be considered.
• High School Diploma (Required).
• Flexible schedule with an average commitment of 3 hours per week (~48 hours per semester).
• SAVMA Reimbursement: Attend the annual SAVMA Symposium and receive up to $1,000 reimbursement for travel, lodging, and meal expenses.
• Gain valuable experience by enhancing your leadership, communication, networking, and advocacy skills that will benefit your career in veterinary medicine.
• Access resources such as ASPCA® educational materials, webinars, opportunities to tour and engage with our medical staff at the ASPCA® Cruelty Recovery Center, and professional networking opportunities in animal welfare.
• Potential to earn up to $1,000 per semester based on your level of commitment.
