Vehicle Fleet Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.

📋 Description

• Oversee, schedule, and manage Slate's expanding fleet of company-owned vehicles utilized for PR, marketing, and influencer initiatives.

• Ensure that each fleet vehicle is scheduled, serviced, insured, and ready for events.

• Keep detailed records of vehicle condition, mileage, and service history.

• Organize repairs, detailing, recalls, and software updates for the fleet.

• Schedule vehicle loans, pickups, and drop-offs for media and influencers.

• Coordinate vehicle placement with press and content creators through fleet vendors.

• Monitor vehicle availability in relation to editorial and campaign schedules and address any scheduling conflicts.

• Manage daily scheduling and transportation logistics for events, photo/video shoots, and media drives.

• Oversee vehicle pickup, delivery, and transport across various markets.

• Manage relationships with dealerships, service centers, detailing vendors, and other fleet or logistics providers.

• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules.

• Assess and onboard new vendors as needed.

• Oversee the fleet budget and monitor expenses against it.

• Collaborate with Finance on forecasting and budget planning.

• Maintain documentation related to registration, titling, insurance, safety, DOT, and regulatory compliance.

• Ensure vehicle condition, mileage, and chain-of-custody documentation are maintained during loans.

• Collaborate with Marketing, PR, and Experiential teams to fulfill campaign and event requirements.

• Provide vehicle information and availability to internal stakeholders.

• Implement process enhancements and scalable systems for fleet operations.

• Undertake additional duties and special projects as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.

• 10+ years of experience in managing a vehicle fleet.

• Familiarity with fleet management service providers and media/influencer vehicle loan programs.

• Proficient in Smartsheets, Microsoft Office Suite, and fleet management software.

• Experience with vendor and budget management tools.

• Comfortable using scheduling and logistics platforms.

• Outstanding organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Strong project management capabilities.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently in a remote role and make informed decisions under pressure.

• Experience in automotive PR, brand ambassador programs, or experiential marketing is preferred.

• Knowledge of or interest in the automotive and electric vehicle sectors is preferred.

• Experience in negotiating vendor contracts and managing departmental budgets is preferred.

• Must be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
