VDC Manager – Coordination

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects utilizing Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) technologies and methodologies.

• Foster innovation by keeping abreast of VDC trends and promoting ongoing enhancements in construction workflows.

• Supervise the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and additional digital tools to enhance project delivery and collaboration.

• Represent the organization in business development, client interactions, and industry events.

• Serve as the primary point of contact between internal teams, contractors, clients, and stakeholders to ensure alignment on project objectives and execution.

• Spearhead the application of VDC tools, including 3D modeling, clash detection, and simulation software.

• Oversee the creation of digital models and ensure VDC data is accurate and accessible.

• Monitor the quality of VDC deliverables and implement strategies for risk mitigation.

• Act as the main liaison for all stakeholders.

• Facilitate client meetings and presentations, effectively communicating the value of VDC and project updates.

• Identify and resolve design conflicts prior to the commencement of construction.

• Manage project budgets and ensure the cost-effective utilization of VDC resources.

• Keep projects on schedule and within budget constraints.

• Track project milestones and performance indicators.

• Address challenges and apply corrective measures as necessary.

• Assist senior leadership in training direct reports.

• Mentor non-direct reports on VDC procedures and best practices.

• Collaborate with the Director of VDC and Business Development teams.

• Engage in sales meetings, client relationship development, and networking events.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.

• Familiarity with 4D/5D simulations and cost/time modeling.

• 3-5 years of experience in the AEC industry.

• Proficient in Microsoft Project, Procore, or similar project management software.

• 2-3 years of experience in leading BIM coordination efforts.

• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.

• Proven experience managing construction projects with a focus on VDC/BIM.

• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and the ability to juggle multiple projects concurrently.

• Expertise in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Construction Cloud, and related tools.

• Willingness to travel for site visits and client engagements as required.

• Solid understanding of construction lifecycles, contract development, and project delivery methods (Design-Build, CM at RISK, IPD).
