Underwriting Assistant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Provide support for E&S underwriting across multiple lines of business and coverage areas.

• Oversee the submission processes, which includes reviewing submissions for completeness and assisting with account clearance and setup.

• Conduct submission triage by evaluating information against underwriting appetites and guidelines.

• Aid underwriting personnel with determining eligibility and prioritizing opportunities.

• Acquire necessary information from brokers.

• Systematically organize and maintain file documentation.

• Enable transactions with other underwriting support resources.

• Communicate with underwriters and wholesale trading partners via phone, virtually, or in person to independently facilitate transactions or with minimal guidance.

• Play a role in developing a profitable book of E&S business across growing lines and coverages.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience in general/technical E&S underwriting support across various lines of business and coverage types.

• Proven experience in managing submission processes, including completeness reviews to handle or facilitate account clearance and setup.

• Familiarity with basic underwriting data analysis to perform submission triage activities and assist underwriting staff in determining eligibility and prioritizing opportunities.

• Capability to gather necessary information from brokers, organize and maintain file documentation, and facilitate transactions with other underwriting support resources.

• Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks/projects, focus on key priorities, and meet deadlines.

• Understanding of company appetites and delegated underwriting authorities.

• Experience in supporting Inland Marine, Builder's Risk, or Property lines of business.

• Authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
