This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.
• Provide remote underground engineering services, which include reviewing drill and blast designs, creating loading packages, and validating designs for global WebGen™ operations.
• Develop, assess, and enhance underground blast designs to ensure safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Evaluate blast designs and loading packages against Orica standards and essential control requirements.
• Analyze blast measurements and performance data to uncover opportunities for improvement and optimization.
• Assess stope performance, dilution, recovery, blast outcomes, and factors contributing to design success.
• Prepare technical documentation, benchmarking reports, and performance analyses.
• Collaborate with underground operations, technical services teams, WebGen™ specialists, and engineering experts across various global regions.
• Provide engineering services within the agreed service levels and operational deadlines.
• Facilitate mentoring, knowledge sharing, and capability development within the remote engineering team.
• Contribute to initiatives aimed at automation, workflow enhancement, and improving the efficiency of engineering service delivery.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in underground metal mining.
• Significant exposure to underground drill and blast design as well as mine planning.
• Practical experience in stope design and evaluation, including aspects such as dilution, recovery, blast performance, and stope stability assessment.
• Strong grasp of Longhole Open Stoping, Cut & Fill, and Sublevel Stoping methodologies.
• Experience in reviewing and interpreting blast performance data and post-blast reconciliation results.
• Familiarity with using ShotPlus™ UG or other recognized underground blast design software.
• Excellent technical problem-solving skills along with sound engineering decision-making abilities.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills for effective interaction across global teams and cultures.
• High level of organization, attention to detail, accountability, and a commitment to quality and safety.
• Experience with Deswik, underground mine planning software, WebGen™, or electronic blasting technologies is highly valued.
