Design Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop and modify 2D CAD drawings, which include floor plans, wiring diagrams, device layouts, control schematics, and riser diagrams.

• Convert engineer and designer annotations into precise, high-quality drawings.

• Revise and manage CAD files, layers, title blocks, and drawing standards effectively.

• Generate as-built drawings based on field markups and modifications made during installation.

• Assist in the preparation of project submittal packages, control diagrams, and detailed sheets.

• Work collaboratively with designers, engineers, project managers, and field technicians to ensure that drawings reflect design intent and actual field conditions.

• Utilize mechanical, electrical, and architectural knowledge to accurately position devices and equipment.

• Engage in internal drawing reviews to verify accuracy and adherence to project requirements.

• Report any discrepancies or lack of information in sketches and specifications.

• Verify that drawings meet company standards, templates, and file-naming protocols.

• Maintain version control and document updates throughout the project's duration.

• Review drawings for dimensional precision, clarity, and feasibility of construction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Expertise in AutoCAD (2D proficiency is mandatory).

• Capability to interpret mechanical, electrical, and architectural blueprints.

• Solid grasp of drafting principles, including layers, scaling, line weights, and annotation standards.

• Exceptional attention to detail and precision in producing drawings.

• Ability to work from verbal instructions, sketches, annotations, and redline drawings.

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

• Preferred experience in drafting for HVAC, electrical, controls, or MEP projects.

• Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD Electrical, or Bluebeam software.

• Basic knowledge of building systems, such as HVAC, lighting, and control devices.

• Experience with control diagrams, one-line diagrams, or schematics.

• Associate degree or certification in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
