Ultrasound Dispatcher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Assign sonographers to the relevant geographic locations

• Differentiate between same-day and scheduled services

• Recognize and prioritize STAT, ASAP, and urgent cases

• Report issues to the Supervisor and Field Manager

• Provide support to technologists with directions, case types, client information, and other daily requirements

• Assist customer service representatives with client-order overflow when necessary

• Contact facilities to arrange examinations and confirm diagnoses and symptoms

• Relay preparation instructions to nursing staff when required

• Coordinate diagnosis codes and ultrasound study types to send the appropriate technologist

• Acquire and implement Medicare diagnosis and scheduling guidelines

• Stay informed about medical insurance acceptance policies

• Verify cases after the technologist's completion and report technical issues to the Supervisor

• Maintain knowledge of the geography of the assigned dispatch area

• Schedule fixed physician sites and prisons on a weekly basis

• Keep the fixed-site contact lists updated

• Generate work orders based on telephone or fax requests

• Send final reports to facilities upon their request

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum typing speed of 35 words per minute

• Basic English written and verbal communication skills

• Intermediate understanding of medical terminology

• Some familiarity with dispatch and routing procedures

• Intermediate skills in customer service

• Intermediate communication abilities

• Basic computer proficiency

• Capability to function effectively as a team member

• Detail-oriented and able to complete tasks meticulously
