Database Team Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Provide advanced database administration expertise in deploying and managing databases that support customer applications.

• Design infrastructure and install/configure database software solutions across environments such as Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and cloud databases.

• Ensure database environments adhere to availability and performance criteria.

• Assist with the scheduling of deployment activities and new database installations.

• Establish security standards and verify that all databases comply with ALTESS and Army security protocols.

• Develop and maintain database monitoring and administrative dashboards for proactive management.

• Implement Cyber Command STIG processes and procedures.

• Conduct Security Readiness Reviews (SRR).

• Document findings in the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) documentation.

• Support mission-critical Army IT services across enterprise data centers and cloud-hosted settings.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in database administration and architecture.

• 10–15 years of relevant experience.

• A minimum of five years' experience with Application Server architecture in a large enterprise setting.

• Familiarity with Oracle, MSSQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and cloud database environments.

• Understanding of database administration responsibilities.

• Capability to interact with customers professionally.

• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

• Knowledge of Python and PowerShell is preferred.

• Working knowledge of DoD STIGs and IAVM is preferred.

• Must be able to sit for extended periods.

• Must be able to stand for extended periods.

• Ability to navigate throughout an office environment.

• Ability to move between multiple buildings.

• Capability to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as required.

• Ability to repeatedly lift and carry up to 25 pounds.

• Willingness to travel by land or air transportation up to 15% of the time.
