Triage Nurse

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Respond to oncology patient inquiries regarding treatment, surgical procedures, and appointment details.

• Monitor and assist with the management of patient symptoms.

• Oversee high-risk, complex patient care to reduce visits to the emergency department and prevent inpatient readmissions.

• Identify and address barriers to care while catering to the needs of patients, caregivers, and families.

• Offer personalized patient education, resources, and referrals.

• Support the physician and PA-C/ARNP during patient and family interactions to resolve clinical concerns.

• Complete necessary clinical documentation as requested.

• Establish and uphold professional role boundaries with patients, caregivers, and the multidisciplinary care team.

• Enhance communication among members of the multidisciplinary cancer care team.

• Review, assess, and report on diagnostic tests to evaluate patients' conditions.

• Provide education and clinical guidance following chemotherapy, radiation, infusion treatments, and surgical procedures.

• Operate as a key team player under general supervision, adhering to established policies, procedures, and professional standards.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess a Registered Nurse multistate or Florida single state license.

• A minimum of an Associate Degree in Nursing is required.

• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN®) certification is preferred.

• At least three (3) years of experience as a Registered Nurse is necessary.

• A minimum of two (2) years of oncology experience is required.

• Excellent organizational skills are essential.

• Capability to prioritize and adjust priorities swiftly.

• Ability to cultivate collaborative relationships both within the organization and externally.

• Proficient written communication skills are necessary.

• Strong telephonic assessment and communication abilities are essential.

• Competence to work independently and as part of a virtual team in a remote setting.

• Expertise in oncology side effect and triage management.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.

• Strong critical-thinking skills are essential.

• Must comply with Florida State Board of Nursing rules and regulations.

• Successful completion of background, drug, and nicotine screenings is required.

• Required vaccinations, including the influenza vaccine, unless an approved exemption is provided.
