Travelling Technician

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Interpret GEV manuals, specifications, bulletins, and work instructions to carry out assigned tasks.

• Conduct maintenance and fault detection of assets to ensure optimal performance.

• Serve as the site HVOA Delegate as necessary.

• Execute high-voltage switching operations following site protocols.

• Implement electrical installation standards effectively.

• Carry out work in compliance with SWMS, LOTO, EHS, and QA/QC policies and procedures.

• Identify and report discrepancies, violations, incidents, and issues using GEV systems.

• Maintain an understanding of the responsibilities of a Registered Electrical Contractor.

• Supervise electrical installation and maintenance tasks when needed.

• Keep up-to-date reports utilizing GEV software tools and databases.

• Submit engineering inquiries to address technical challenges.

• Collaborate with Management, Engineering, Sourcing, and Service Teams effectively.

• Make decisions regarding quality conformance or non-conformance after completing tasks and inspections.

• Participate in an on-call roster for weekends and nights as required.

• Adhere to EHS policies and assist with investigations and audits.

• Travel to Silverton Wind Farm to provide operational support, technical leadership, troubleshooting, and turbine availability optimization.


⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess Australian Permanent Resident or Australian Citizen working rights at the time of application.

• Hold Australian-recognized qualifications.

• Have a Registered Workers License Electrical (A-Grade or equivalent).

• A minimum of five years of experience in the onshore wind sector or similar heavy industry is highly regarded.

• Must be nominated as Electrical Supervisor under the Registered Electrical Contractor license.

• Hold the role of Nominated Qualified Supervisor - Electrical for the company.

• Understand basic AC/DC electrical circuits and circuit analysis for 24VDC, 166VDC, 120VAC, 230VAC, 400VAC, 575VAC, and 690VAC.

• Have previous experience in high-voltage switching and operations.

• Current High Voltage operating certificate or the ability to obtain one.

• Proficient in fault finding for electrical and hydraulic equipment.

• Possess intermediate computer skills.

• Capable of climbing wind turbines and performing physically demanding tasks at heights.

• Experience working in remote locations and independently.

• Willingness to travel over 65% of the year.

• Desired qualifications: HRWL including Dogging, Rigging (Advanced), Forklift, and EWP.

• Desired: CSE GWO Advanced.

• Availability to monitor, read, and respond to contacts outside normal working hours.
