Travel Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Organize and reserve travel arrangements for staff members

• Ensure that travel plans are executed efficiently and effectively

• Provide assistance with Athletics/Group travel requests and manage the group system

• Relay final travel itineraries to the individuals who requested them

• Implement cost-reduction strategies through negotiations with travel providers and economical routing

• Create, maintain, and update physical trip files, including preparations for the annual audit

• Input information provided by staff into the travel database and keep it updated

• Collaborate with the designated travel agency to supply trip itineraries

• Work with Finance to invoice travelers for personal travel expenses and follow up on outstanding invoices

• Arrange hotel meeting spaces and other accommodations for GCU field personnel

• Monitor and ensure adherence to Travel Policy and Procedures

• Update content on the travel section of the website

• Perform other assigned tasks

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience working with Athletic departments is highly desirable

• A Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university is preferred

• At least three years of experience in booking airline travel within an agency or corporate setting

• Experience in making full-service reservations, including hotel, air, and car

• A minimum of two years of experience using GDS software; Apollo is preferred

• Employment is contingent upon satisfactory pre-employment screening, including a background check
