GC Crisis Counselor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Provide crisis intervention, suicide prevention, and brief supportive counseling to individuals facing emotional distress.

• Perform client assessments in accordance with regional and program policies and procedures.

• Manage client interactions to deliver appropriate, timely, and efficient support tailored to individual needs.

• Maintain precise and effective documentation of client interactions.

• Meet or surpass key performance indicators established by program objectives.

• Utilize current technologies to engage effectively with clients and community members.

• Offer professional assessments, consultations, and service coordination.

• Triage requests for face-to-face mental health evaluations and appropriately dispatch teams.

• Participate in staff meetings and local as well as regional training sessions.

• Mentor and coach new team members.

• Provide backup coverage for other Regional Crisis Line and 988 programs as necessary.

• Contribute to a workplace culture centered on integrity, respect, and accountability.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required.

• A minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare contact center and/or in mental health counseling.

• Agency Affiliated Counselor Registration is required within 30 days of employment, or equivalent, and must remain active throughout employment.

• Successful completion of a typing test with a score of 35 WPM or higher.

• Fluency in English, both oral and written.

• Proficiency in Motivational Interviewing and active listening techniques.

• Strong problem-solving abilities and information-gathering skills.

• Excellent communication skills to articulate information clearly and effectively.

• Capability to multitask, including talking and typing simultaneously.

• Efficiency in documenting notes in electronic medical records.

• Minimum home internet speed of 100Mbps download and 10Mbps upload.

• Recent internet speed test result required as evidence.

• Secured wired ethernet connection is mandated; WiFi is not permitted.

• Satellite internet providers such as HughesNet, Starlink, or Visat are not supported.
