Transportation Claims Adjuster

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assess and adjudicate complex claims, including those in litigation, while ensuring adherence to all legal and regulatory standards.

• Supervise the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of bodily injury claims related to company vehicles or drivers.

• Create comprehensive file summaries for internal reporting, large loss evaluations, and reinsurance objectives, guaranteeing that all relevant information is precisely documented.

• Ensure that all bodily injury claims are managed in line with industry best practices and company protocols.

• Adjust physical damage claims, including those for unreported damages.

• Engage in negotiations directly with insurance adjusters, claimants, and representatives of third-party claimants upon receiving critical information.

• Discuss accidents, damages, preventability, and processes with commercial vehicle operators.

• Maintain files pertaining to litigation, subrogation, physical damage, liability, and workers' compensation claims.

• Report claims and accidents as needed.

• Be available for on-call duties during nights and weekends for serious accidents and other necessary tasks.

• Select, direct, and manage relationships with vendors, including towing companies, body shops, garages, and parking/storage facilities, to obtain accurate costs for claim settlements.

• Update and process payments for repairs.

• Order police reports, establish new claim files, and confirm losses with insurers and brokers.

• Communicate effectively with the Claims team, Safety/Compliance team, and other relevant stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Post-secondary education in an Insurance program or a related field.

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in trucking, claims, or safety and compliance is preferred.

• Experience with commercial lines and transportation liability.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.

• Strong skills in multi-tasking, time management, customer service, and organization.

• Capability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

• Ability to remain calm in crisis situations.
