This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Perform virtual and in-person investigations at the residences of policyholders.
• Assess property damages, ascertain liability, evaluate the extent of losses, and negotiate equitable settlements.
• Utilize claims management software, a company vehicle, and a laptop to assess damage and create estimates in a paperless setting.
• Identify and report potential subrogation opportunities.
• Notify relevant state and industry agencies about incidents of theft, fraud, or arson.
• Operate independently with responsibilities that directly influence management outcomes.
• Represent the company in a professional manner during public engagements.
• Interact with policyholders, claimants, agents, witnesses, contractors, law enforcement, fraud and arson investigators, attorneys, medical professionals, and other pertinent parties.
• Negotiate claim settlements with policyholders.
• Carry out additional assigned tasks as needed.
• Advocate for safety and adhere to safety and ergonomic standards.
• Travel to and from the homes of policyholders in the Crosby, Dayton, and Liberty regions.
• Work both in the field and from a home office environment.
• A High School diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.
• Strong customer service experience, ideally in a retail setting.
• Experience in construction or insurance is highly desirable and preferred.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• Proficient in computer usage, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Skilled with smartphones and relevant applications.
• Willingness to learn about insurance policies and property damage.
• A valid driver's license and bondable status are mandatory.
• Final candidates will undergo a background check of their Motor Vehicle Record.
• Must be willing and able to climb ladders and work on rooftops multiple times daily.
• Capability to work in small, confined spaces such as attics and crawlspaces.
• Must achieve a minimum passing score on all claims training assessments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and data entry in English.
• Ability to operate in diverse and potentially hazardous field conditions.
• Catastrophe team hires must be prepared to travel away from home for approximately 23 days when deployed and commit to 1–3 CAT deployments annually.
