This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Investigate and manage property claims.
• Gather information, assess coverages, conduct field inspections, and resolve claims.
• Handle moderately complex homeowner property field claims.
• Occasionally manage desk claims.
• Investigate the origin and cause of claims by contacting insured individuals, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, special investigation units, adjusters, and public personnel.
• Identify intricate issues and seek assistance as necessary.
• Manage 1st-party and 3rd-party claims across various policy types and endorsements.
• Conduct on-site inspections, assess damages, and negotiate claims.
• Address customer inquiries, make decisions, and finalize files.
• Interpret policies, leases, by-laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages.
• Provide updates on the claims process and status, and respond to or redirect inquiries.
• Complete additional assignments, tasks, or projects as required.
• Report directly to the Property Claim Manager.
• Spend approximately 80% of time working in the field.
• Proven experience in delivering customer-focused solutions, support, or service.
• Proven experience managing 1st and 3rd party, multi-line claims across operational territories, or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience handling moderately complex claims, or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of policies and endorsements related to casualty coverages, or equivalent knowledge.
• Strong understanding of each phase of the claims handling process, or equivalent knowledge.
• Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
• Obtain state-specific property casualty claims licensing as required.
• Hands-on experience with property field claims.
• Demonstrated ability to write clear, accurate, and timely estimates using Xactimate.
• Willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Catastrophe duty may be required up to 75% as applicable.
• Ability to perform fieldwork, including using ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and working in tight/confined spaces and hazardous environments.
• Capability to adjust or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must pass applicable background checks.
• Must sign a non-disclosure agreement.
