Crop Claims Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota.

📋 Description

• Conduct field inspections, which involve interpreting maps and aerial images, as well as measuring fields and storage bins.

• Engage in discussions with farmers regarding crop loss on intricate, non-standard, problematic, and contentious claims.

• Communicate complex regulations and their interpretations to claimants, agents, and industry stakeholders.

• Execute fact-finding missions concerning crop damage.

• Document and relay loss information to assess potential indemnities.

• Collect pertinent facts, apply relevant laws, and establish fundamental principles of negligence.

• Carry out claim reviews and audits of junior adjusters as assigned.

• Keep abreast of regulatory standards and company policies to ensure compliance with legal requirements.

• Contribute to team projects and associated activities.

• Take part in CAT teams and offer remote support for CROP Claims Care Center calls and/or CCP Claims when required.

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent, along with 4 or more years of experience in the agricultural or crop insurance sector.

• Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program Certification (CAPP) must be acquired within 180 days of the hire date.

• Reliable personal transportation is required.

• Willingness to travel within the designated territory and beyond as necessary.

• Capability to walk up to 3 miles in agricultural fields.

• Ability to climb agricultural storage bins up to 25 feet.

• Physical capability to lift weights ranging from 25 lbs. to 50 lbs.

• Ability to work outdoors under varying temperature and weather conditions.

• Preferred experience with crop hail.

• Preferred background as a Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI) Adjuster.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are preferred.

• Strong organizational and prioritization abilities are preferred.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred.
