Transport Network Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Conduct ongoing monitoring of network and service platforms.

• Identify, categorize, and manage alarms and events, correlating alerts to evaluate the impact on customers and infrastructure.

• Implement first-level troubleshooting in accordance with established operational protocols.

• Oversee the complete incident lifecycle from diagnosis to escalation, resolution, and validation of service restoration.

• Assist with scheduled maintenance windows, operational modifications, and post-change health assessments.

• Ensure adherence to operational standards, security protocols, and governance frameworks.

• Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders regarding incidents, service disruptions, and restoration efforts.

• Maintain comprehensive shift logs and engage in operational handovers.

• Identify recurring incidents and promote automation possibilities.

• Keep operational documentation and knowledge management resources updated.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in network operations, NOC, or telecommunications maintenance roles.

• Practical exposure to monitoring and management tools utilized in large-scale infrastructure settings.

• Strong understanding of transport network platforms and telecommunications infrastructure.

• Capability to conduct initial fault diagnosis, determine fault domains, and evaluate service impact.

• Experience in managing incident tickets and adhering to escalation procedures.

• Proven ability to collaborate with L2/L3 support teams, vendors, and specialized operational groups.

• Skill in maintaining accurate operational records and quality ticket documentation.

• Commitment to SLA compliance and KPI metrics such as MTTA and incident response time.

• Proficient communication with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to support major incident communications under high-pressure situations.

• Willingness to work in a 24/7 telecommunications environment.
