This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Manage the entire lifecycle of intricate network and firewall incidents, from identification to resolution and post-incident analysis.
• Spearhead the investigation and resolution of critical network incidents involving internal teams, vendors, and customer stakeholders.
• Make informed technical decisions and take comprehensive ownership of network-related issues.
• Oversee the technical execution of network projects, including scoping, estimation, design, and implementation.
• Conduct root cause analyses and formulate long-term remediation strategies.
• Validate and authorize network modifications, designs, and remediation approaches.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Palo Alto networking and firewall devices.
• Enhance and refine existing network environments to ensure stability and scalability.
• Collaborate with security teams to strengthen network defenses and mitigate risks.
• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Contribute to the creation of architecture documentation, diagrams, and operational runbooks.
• Monitor developments in networking and security technologies, providing recommendations for new solutions.
• Document time and project activities in the company's time-tracking system.
• Over 10 years of experience in an MSP, VAR, ISP, NOC, or enterprise IT setting, concentrating on troubleshooting and maintaining existing network infrastructure.
• Proficiency in English.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks, including PAN-OS, Panorama, firewall and endpoint policy design, rule optimization, VPN setup, and threat prevention.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, IPSec, SNMP, STP, VTP, and VLANs.
• In-depth knowledge of network infrastructure within virtualized environments using VMware or similar platforms, covering virtual networking, VLAN configurations, virtual switches, and network segmentation.
• Experience in troubleshooting performance and connectivity issues across various OSI layers.
• Familiarity with application-level network troubleshooting, packet inspection, and analysis.
• Demonstrated experience in optimizing, securing, and consolidating complex legacy network environments.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-centric approach.
• Active Palo Alto PCNSE certification or equivalent Fortinet NSE 4/7 (preferred).
• Experience with cloud networking across AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (preferred).
• Background in network hardening, monitoring, and threat assessment (preferred).
• Experience in an MSP environment utilizing ITIL-based service delivery models (preferred).
• Experience delivering customer-facing IT network projects (preferred).
• Degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field (preferred).
• Work remotely from anywhere in Brazil.
