
Training Specialist β Underwriting

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Support team members in grasping and demonstrating the necessary skills for performing underwriting job responsibilities.
β’ Develop, implement, and facilitate an engaging learning and development strategy and program tailored for both new and existing Underwriting employees.
β’ Design innovative, up-to-date, and cutting-edge courses and training materials.
β’ Deliver live instructor-led training sessions for both new and existing Underwriting staff.
β’ Prepare and organize course outlines, materials, and instructional aids.
β’ Review and update training materials, procedures, tools, and manuals as needed.
β’ Stay informed about emerging training techniques and advancements in the insurance sector.
β’ Collaborate with business leaders and subject matter experts to evaluate training requirements and learning objectives, while recommending appropriate solutions.
β’ Implement adult learning principles, instructional design theories, learning tools, industry resources, and assessment methods.
β’ Conduct training sessions ranging from one day to several weeks focused on underwriting philosophy and system usage.
β’ Establish instructional objectives and select suitable delivery methods that cater to adult learning styles.
β’ Create interactive learning experiences utilizing case studies, narratives, small group activities, and reinforcement strategies.
β’ Assess and analyze trainee progress and performance through engagement and work product evaluations.
β’ Communicate insights to leadership and advocate for the training and informational needs of employees.
β’ Create online training materials, courses, and tools utilizing e-learning and other software applications.
β’ Maintain consistent attendance on a full-time schedule of at least 8 hours per day and 40 hours per week.
β’ Execute other assigned duties as necessary.
β’ Successful completion of a Bachelorβs degree (B.A., B.S.) is required.
β’ A minimum of 4 years of underwriting experience or 2 years as a Senior Underwriter, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is preferred.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of insurance principles, terminology, products, and practices.
β’ In-depth knowledge of established company and department policies and procedures.
β’ Familiarity with a variety of training methods, including self-study, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises, role-playing, and computer-based learning.
β’ Experience in developing training content and delivering web-based training programs.
β’ Proven facilitation skills in both small and large group settings.
β’ Strong verbal and written communication abilities with a keen attention to detail.
β’ Capability to manage multiple projects or assignments while adhering to deadlines.
β’ Excellent organizational skills and the initiative to prioritize training needs and curriculum development.
β’ Capacity to establish program objectives, goals, and performance standards, and to evaluate employee progress and performance.
β’ Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting course data and feedback to select and create effective training courses and materials.
β’ Demonstrated analytical skills and enthusiasm for new technologies.
β’ Creative and innovative problem-solving abilities and solution formulation.
β’ Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
β’ Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint).
