Senior Learning Experience Designer – Virtual

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Oversee learning-design projects for intricate, impactful, or unclear initiatives.

• Partner with Learning Solutions Consultants, subject matter experts, stakeholders, and project team members.

• Convert identified needs and agreed-upon solution paths into engaging learning experiences.

• Apply advanced instructional judgment and provide guidance on design, feasibility, quality, delivery, and learner-experience trade-offs.

• Create, develop, and maintain facilitator guides, resource guides, job aids, storyboards, e-learning modules, assessments, practice activities, multimedia assets, and other relevant learning materials.

• Utilize AI-enabled and agentic production workflows for drafting, content transformation, asset development, version comparison, and initial quality checks.

• Generate and deliver final production files in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Articulate, Sana or successor learning platforms, and other sanctioned environments.

• Address production, workflow, prioritization, and recovery issues.

• Conduct quality reviews to ensure accuracy, instructional integrity, accessibility, usability, visual quality, technical readiness, and compliance.

• Take independent ownership of appropriately scoped complex projects and extensive content maintenance and updates.

• Establish and enhance learning-design, production, AI workflow, template, and quality practices.

• Guide Learning Experience Designers through peer consultation, feedback, demonstrations, and collaborative problem-solving.

• Participate in assessment, pilot, and evaluation activities that demonstrate the impact of learning on performance measures.

• Carry out additional duties as necessary or evident.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in adult education, instructional design, learning experience design, communications, or a related field, along with typically six (6) or more years of pertinent learning design or development experience.

• Equivalent combinations of education, experience, and proven capability are acceptable.

• Deep understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, assessment methods, accessibility, and virtual and blended learning techniques.

• Capability to independently design and develop complex instructor-led, virtual, e-learning, and blended learning resources.

• Proven ability to use generative AI and agentic production workflows from day one, demonstrated through a portfolio, work samples, or other applicable evidence.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint as well as proficiency in at least one e-learning authoring platform such as Articulate Storyline or Rise, including complex builds and troubleshooting.

• Proficient in writing and editing clear, concise learning content for intricate learning experiences.

• Capable of resolving complex production, workflow, prioritization, quality, and recovery challenges while ensuring accuracy, source fidelity, accessibility, usability, and readiness.

• Ability to manage multiple complex production priorities, adhere to deadlines, identify risks and dependencies, collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders, and offer constructive peer guidance.

• Master’s degree in adult education, instructional design, learning experience design, organizational development, or a related field.

• Familiarity with visual and multimedia design principles.

• Experience in supporting evaluation, measurement, accessibility review, or quality assurance for learning products.

• Experience in creating reusable production patterns or AI-assisted quality checks.

• Experience mentoring or providing peer consultation to learning designers without formal supervisory authority.

• Experience in facilitating instructor-led or virtual learning sessions.

• Experience reviewing learning assets created by vendors or developed externally.
