This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.
• Create, develop, and present captivating training materials for both in-person and virtual sessions aimed at CDBG-DR grantees and stakeholders.
• Address topics related to housing, infrastructure, mitigation, program execution, compliance, and federal grant requirements.
• Lead learning sessions utilizing interactive activities, group discussions, case studies, and role-playing exercises.
• Provide group and individual instructional training under the guidance of a project manager.
• Act as a subject-matter expert, author, researcher, or developer contributing to product development projects.
• Function as a subject-matter expert on HUD disaster recovery programs.
• Tailor content to meet the specific needs and learning capacities of diverse audiences.
• Conduct training on regulatory and grant-specific requirements, including policies and procedures, national objectives, procurement, federal funding coordination, labor standards, citizen participation, and compliance.
• Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance of all developed materials.
• Assist with technical support engagements related to housing and community development, federal funding mandates, resilience, and hazard mitigation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Learning and Development, Organizational Management, Education, Public Policy, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of direct experience with CDBG-DR programs, HUD initiatives, and/or other relevant affordable housing programs.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience using various training platforms to deliver in-person and virtual training, as well as designing and providing training and technical assistance (TTA) services.
• Exceptional facilitation and presentation abilities for both virtual and in-person classroom settings.
• Proven knowledge of the implementation of housing, community and economic development, and disaster recovery programs at the state and/or local levels.
• Willingness to travel occasionally.
• Strong verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
• Capability to be flexible and adaptable in managing multiple priorities.
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Skill in collaborating with all levels of internal staff, external clients, and consultants.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
• Initiative to coordinate with others and work independently.
• Outstanding attention to detail.
