Professional Learning Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.

📋 Description

• Deliver dynamic professional learning experiences in both virtual and in-person settings

• Facilitate learning rooted in adult learning principles while assisting educators in applying learning to their instructional practices

• Modify delivery methods, content, and implementation strategies based on the needs of participants, partners, and the business

• Develop, create, and sustain professional learning experiences along with supporting materials across various delivery formats

• Utilize feedback, insights from implementation, and data to enhance existing content and guide the development of new offerings

• Ensure that professional learning resources are aligned with Discovery Education products, quality standards, and partner requirements

• Provide coaching and consultation to assist educators and school leaders in executing effective instructional practices

• Conduct needs-analysis discussions and suggest professional learning solutions that align with partner objectives

• Oversee implementation progress and recommend modifications to ensure sustained impact

• Collaborate with Partner Success, Sales, Product, and Professional Learning teams

• Communicate partner needs, progress updates, risks, and opportunities to both internal and external stakeholders

• Foster trusted relationships to promote a consistent and impactful experience for partners

• Coordinate professional learning engagements, including scheduling and implementation activities

• Maintain precise records of partner interactions, activities, and progress in implementation

• Adjust across content development, facilitation, coaching, consultation, and implementation based on customer demand and business priorities

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field is required

• A minimum of 5 years of teaching or relevant K-12 educational experience

• At least 2 years of experience in designing and/or delivering professional learning for K-12 educators

• Understanding of adult learning theory, effective pedagogical practices, and evidence-based professional learning

• Proven success in creating professional learning content and/or facilitating professional learning in both virtual and in-person environments

• Demonstrated success in coaching educators or supporting instructional implementation through observation, feedback, consultation, or related methods

• Ability to travel as per assignment, customer demand, and seasonal business needs; overnight travel may be necessary

• Legal authorization to work in the United States

• Capability to deliver engaging, learner-centered experiences in both virtual and in-person settings

• Proficiency in creating impactful professional learning experiences and resources based on adult learning principles and effective instructional practices

• Competence in supporting educators and school leaders through job-embedded coaching, needs analysis, consultation, observation, and feedback

• Skill in building trusted relationships with both internal and external stakeholders

• Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across teams

• Proficiency in utilizing feedback, implementation insights, and both qualitative and quantitative data

• Ability to manage competing priorities, navigate uncertainty, solve problems, and adapt to changing needs
