Trade Compliance Specialist – Europe

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Prepare shipping documentation and commercial invoices, ensuring that all broker and carrier documentation is systematically stored.

• Implement approved HTS classifications and country-of-origin assessments throughout the shipping processes and systems.

• Oversee relationships with customs brokers, coordinate clearance processes, and evaluate broker performance.

• Track duties within the total landed shipping costs and file claims when discrepancies are identified.

• Address routine customs inquiries and guarantee the accuracy of import and export declarations.

• Manage the duty drawback program in collaboration with Livingstone, preparing and verifying claims.

• Supervise and uphold compliance with the US import bond.

• Collaborate with manufacturers, initially based in India, to facilitate compliant and duty-efficient shipping.

• Discover duty-saving opportunities through applicable free trade agreements.

• Develop trade compliance procedures for entry into new duty-liable markets and escalate intricate inquiries to the Legal & Compliance team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in global trade compliance or customs operations, particularly with US, UK, and EU imports/exports.

• Over 7 years of experience in import/export customs compliance.

• Direct experience in managing customs broker relationships and handling high-volume shipment documentation.

• Experience in filing duty drawback or tariff reclaim claims.

• Capacity to work independently with a high degree of autonomy.

• Detail-oriented with a process-focused mindset.

• Located in the EU or UK, with the flexibility to work across various time zones.

• Strong stakeholder management abilities with brokers, carriers, manufacturers, Legal, Fulfillment, and Operations teams.

• Commercially minded, linking compliance efforts to cost savings and business impact.
