This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Oversee the assigned Public Water System permits and ensure adherence to regulatory standards under the Safe Drinking Water Act.
• Aid in the preparation and submission of permit applications, encompassing both construction and operational permits.
• Assist in compliance monitoring, regulatory reporting, and submissions to federal and state agencies.
• Maintain and track compliance records to ensure timely reporting and fulfillment of permit obligations.
• Act as a liaison with federal and state regulatory agencies concerning inspections, sanitary surveys, audits, compliance reviews, enforcement actions, and corrective measures.
• Organize laboratory services and manage sampling logistics.
• Assess water quality data and compliance documentation for precision and completeness.
• Offer guidance and training on drinking water compliance to sales and field teams.
• Facilitate Nalco Water's involvement in regulatory reviews and interactions with agencies.
• Stay informed on regulatory developments and assist in the implementation of changes to drinking water regulations.
• A bachelor's degree is required.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% as needed.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record, as applicable.
• A Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field, or a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Sciences.
• Possession of a Drinking Water Operator License.
• Professional background in supporting municipal drinking water systems.
• Familiarity with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Safe Drinking Water Act.
• Experience with waterborne pathogens, specifically Legionella bacteria.
• Knowledge of drinking water regulations, including Total Coliform Rule, Lead and Copper Rule, Disinfectants and Disinfection Byproducts Rules, PFAS drinking water requirements, and Consumer Confidence Report requirements.
• Proven experience in coordinating sampling programs, conducting laboratory testing, and managing compliance reporting.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail with the capability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and relationship-building abilities.
• Ability to work autonomously in a remote environment while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
