Therapist, Suicide Prevention Program

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial evaluations, as well as individual and group therapy sessions.

• Offer evidence-informed teletherapy for individuals, families, and guardians of youth aged 12–26 at high or critical risk of suicide.

• Implement family-systems approaches, C-CBT, DBT techniques, and Motivational Interviewing strategies.

• Utilize validated tools for assessing suicide risk, such as the C-SSRS.

• Facilitate real-time safety planning, lethal means counseling, and provide crisis stabilization interventions.

• Perform monthly clinical evaluations to assess acuity and monitor the trajectory of suicide risk.

• Modify the frequency of care and treatment objectives based on the member's readiness and the family's capacity.

• Direct the clinical safety strategy in collaboration with Care Team Members and the Crisis Center.

• Deliver crisis escalation responses, risk mitigation, triage, and prompt updates to safety plans.

• Ensure timely completion of DAP documentation that supports medical necessity, suicide risk assessments, family interventions, and holistic care for Medicaid FFS billing.

• Engage youth and families through video, secure messaging, and interactive safety applications.

• Take part in interdisciplinary meetings and ensure accuracy in registry maintenance.

• Track billable hours, documentation turnaround, and attendance rates.

• Coordinate care efforts with members, families, healthcare professionals, and treatment environments.

• Create individualized care plans tailored to each member's needs.

• Organize and align medical, behavioral, suicide prevention, and social service resources.

• Initiate referrals for financial, psychosocial, community, and state support services.

• Document assessments, care strategies, and referral processes.

• Maintain necessary records, reports, documentation, and diagnostic information while safeguarding member confidentiality.

⛳️ Requirements

• Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or another relevant behavioral health field from an accredited institution.

• A current independent behavioral health license from the Nevada Department of Health (NV DOH).

• Acceptable licenses include Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Clinical Professional Counselor (CPC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Psychologist.

• A minimum of two years of direct experience in the behavioral health sector working with adolescents and adults.

• Training and experience in crisis intervention.

• Familiarity with local resources, social determinants affecting health, mental health, substance use disorders, interpersonal violence, and social challenges.

• Proficiency in computer skills, including experience with electronic health records (EHR).

• Capacity to maintain strict confidentiality and demonstrate sound judgment regarding sensitive member information.

• Strong listening, verbal, and written communication abilities.

• Capability to provide case management in both routine and crisis scenarios.

• Proficient in planning, organizing, managing time, and prioritizing various tasks and responsibilities.

• Self-driven, flexible, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in suicide prevention is strongly preferred.

• Familiarity with Medicare or Medicaid practices is preferred.
