This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Achieve robust and sustainable business performance while making a significant impact on patients within a designated territory.
• Cultivate clinical and account knowledge in rare cholestatic liver diseases along with Mirum's Liver portfolio.
• Identify and prioritize key customers, accounts, and referral networks with high potential.
• Implement tailored account plans that support disease awareness, patient identification, treatment consideration, initiation, and ongoing care.
• Develop and execute business plans for the territory that align with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Leverage performance data, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to refine territory strategy.
• Keep precise records of customers, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documentation, and business updates.
• Foster relationships with healthcare professionals and care teams across intricate accounts.
• Map out account influence and decision-making processes, set engagement objectives, and secure follow-up actions.
• Coordinate compliant actions with field partners regarding accounts.
• Accurately and credibly convey complex scientific and clinical information.
• Implement approved promotional programs and customer engagements in line with company policies and regulations.
• Recognize gaps in disease awareness, referral processes, treatment access, and patient support, and assist in addressing them.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to facilitate care teams in overcoming patient-journey challenges.
• Establish partnerships with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather actionable insights from the field and contribute to business reviews, training sessions, meetings, launch readiness, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Operate with a sense of ownership, initiative, resilience, and a commitment to continuous learning in a fast-paced rare-disease environment.
• Exemplify Mirum's values and uphold standards of ethical conduct, compliance, transparency, inclusion, and respect.
• A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• Proven history of consistently achieving business results in complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science markets.
• Experience in rare diseases is strongly preferred; familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty markets is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical aptitude with the capability to learn, retain, and effectively communicate intricate information regarding disease states, diagnostics, mechanisms of action, clinical data, and product details.
• Experience in account-based selling within health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Ability to utilize insight-led or challenger-style selling techniques to constructively challenge the status quo, influence behaviors, and enhance customer decision-making.
• Familiarity with access and reimbursement processes, patient support pathways, and patient services in rare disease markets.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze performance data, extract insights, develop territory and account strategies, and translate plans into actionable field execution.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation abilities, judgment, and the capacity to build trust with sophisticated customers.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, resilient, organized, and capable of prioritizing and performing independently in a dynamic and ambiguous environment.
• Proven success in cross-functional partnerships with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and adherence to approved promotional practices.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 70%, which includes frequent overnight travel and occasional weekend commitments.
