This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Achieve robust and sustainable business outcomes while making a significant impact on patient care within a designated territory.
• Cultivate clinical and account knowledge in rare cholestatic liver diseases as well as Mirum's Liver product offerings.
• Identify and prioritize high-potential customers, accounts, and referral networks.
• Implement tailored account strategies that enhance disease awareness, facilitate patient identification, and support treatment initiation and ongoing care.
• Develop and execute territory business strategies that align with national, zone, and regional goals.
• Leverage performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to refine territory strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive customer records, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documentation, and business updates.
• Establish and nurture strategic accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks in both pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Foster trusted relationships with healthcare professionals and care teams.
• Map influence and decision-making processes within complex accounts and ensure the appropriate next steps are taken.
• Coordinate compliant account initiatives across Mirum field representatives.
• Accurately and credibly communicate intricate scientific and clinical information.
• Implement approved promotional programs and customer engagements in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Influence various stakeholders without direct authority and manage resistance in a constructive manner.
• Keep the interests of patients and caregivers at the forefront of territory and account decisions.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services teams to overcome patient-journey obstacles.
• Partner across functions with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather actionable field insights and contribute to business reviews, training sessions, team meetings, launch preparedness, and cross-functional projects.
• Operate with a sense of ownership, initiative, resourcefulness, resilience, and a dedication to ongoing learning.
• Exemplify Mirum's values and maintain ethical, compliant, transparent, inclusive, and respectful conduct.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• Proven history of consistently achieving business results in a complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science market.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty markets is strongly desired.
• Strong clinical aptitude with the ability to learn, retain, and convey complex information regarding disease states, diagnostics, mechanisms of action, clinical data, and product details.
• Proven experience with account-based selling within health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Capability to employ insight-led or challenger-style selling to constructively question the status quo, influence behaviors, and drive customer decision-making.
• Familiarity with access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services in rare disease contexts.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze performance data, uncover insights, formulate territory and account strategies, and translate plans into effective field actions.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation abilities, sound judgment, and capacity to build trust with diverse customers.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, resilient, organized, and capable of prioritizing and performing independently in a dynamic and ambiguous environment.
• Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical practices, compliance, and approved promotional activities.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight stays and occasional weekend commitments.
