This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Drive robust and sustainable business outcomes while making a significant impact on patients within a designated territory.
• Cultivate clinical and account knowledge in rare cholestatic liver diseases along with Mirum's Liver portfolio.
• Recognize and focus on high-potential customers, accounts, and referral networks.
• Implement tailored account strategies that promote disease awareness, facilitate patient identification, and encourage treatment initiation and adherence.
• Formulate and execute territory business plans that are in line with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Utilize performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access trends, and competitive analysis to refine territory strategies.
• Keep accurate records of customer interactions, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documentation, and business updates.
• Develop key accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks in pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Establish trusted partnerships with healthcare professionals and care teams.
• Analyze influence and decision-making processes within complex accounts and secure appropriate follow-up actions.
• Coordinate compliant account initiatives with field partners.
• Clearly and credibly convey intricate scientific and clinical information.
• Implement sanctioned promotional activities and customer interactions while adhering to company policies and regulations.
• Persuade multiple stakeholders, navigate challenges, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Keep the needs of patients and caregivers at the forefront of territory and account strategies.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to assist care teams in navigating patient-journey challenges.
• Highlight recurring customer, access, and patient support obstacles to internal teams.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather actionable insights from the field and contribute to business reviews, training, meetings, launch preparations, and cross-functional projects.
• Operate with a sense of ownership, initiative, resilience, curiosity, coachability, and adherence to Mirum's values and ethical standards.
• A Bachelor's degree is mandatory; an advanced degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
• Proven success in consistently achieving business results in complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science markets.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; experience in hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other intricate specialty markets is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical understanding and the ability to learn, retain, and articulate complex information about disease states, diagnostics, mechanisms of action, clinical data, and products.
• Experience in account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Capability to employ insight-led or challenger-style selling to constructively question the status quo, influence behavior, and promote customer decision-making.
• Familiarity with access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services in rare disease sectors.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze performance data, derive insights, create territory and account strategies, and implement plans in the field.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation, judgment, and trust-building abilities.
• Self-driven, resourceful, resilient, organized, and capable of prioritizing and performing independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Proven success in cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Strong commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and approved promotional practices.
• A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight travel and occasional weekend commitments.
