This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Ensure strong and sustainable business performance while making a significant impact on patients within a designated territory.
• Cultivate clinical and account knowledge in the field of rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum's Liver portfolio.
• Identify and prioritize key customers, accounts, and referral networks with high potential.
• Implement tailored account plans that promote disease awareness, assist in patient identification, and facilitate treatment initiation and adherence.
• Develop and execute territory business strategies that align with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Leverage performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to refine territory strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive customer records, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documents, and business updates.
• Foster development of strategic accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks within hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Establish trusted relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office staff, and care teams.
• Navigate decision-making processes and influence outcomes within complex accounts while securing appropriate next steps.
• Coordinate compliant actions across field partners within accounts.
• Clearly and credibly communicate intricate scientific and clinical information.
• Implement approved promotional programs and customer interactions in line with company policies and regulations.
• Influence diverse stakeholders without direct authority and handle resistance in a constructive manner.
• Keep patients and caregivers at the forefront of territory and account decisions.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to assist care teams in addressing appropriate patient-journey obstacles.
• Recognize and escalate recurring customer, access, and patient-support challenges.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather actionable insights from the field to inform strategy, messaging, training, resources, customer experience, and execution.
• Participate in business reviews, training, team meetings, launch readiness, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Demonstrate ownership, initiative, resourcefulness, and resilience in a rapidly changing rare disease landscape.
• Exemplify Mirum's values and adhere to ethical, compliant, transparent, inclusive, and respectful conduct.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• Proven history of consistently achieving business results in complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science markets.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty markets is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical understanding and capability to learn, retain, and articulate complex information regarding disease states, diagnostics, mechanisms of action, clinical data, and product offerings.
• Experience in account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Ability to employ insight-led or challenger-style selling to effectively challenge the status quo, influence behaviors, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Working knowledge of access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services in rare disease contexts.
• Strong business acumen and capacity to interpret performance data, identify insights, devise territory and account strategies, and translate plans into field actions.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation, judgment, and relationship-building abilities.
• Self-driven, resourceful, resilient, organized, able to prioritize, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Proven success in cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical practices, compliance, and approved promotional methodologies.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight travel and occasional weekend commitments.
