This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Achieve strong, sustainable business outcomes and create significant patient impact in a designated territory.
• Cultivate clinical and account knowledge in rare cholestatic liver diseases as well as Mirum's Liver portfolio.
• Identify and prioritize customers, accounts, and referral networks with high potential opportunities.
• Implement tailored account strategies that promote disease awareness, patient identification, treatment consideration, initiation, and ongoing care.
• Develop and execute business plans for the territory that align with national, zone, and regional goals.
• Utilize performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to refine territory strategies.
• Maintain comprehensive customer records, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documents, and business updates.
• Build and nurture strategic accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks in both pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Establish relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office personnel, and care team members.
• Analyze influence and decision-making processes in complex accounts and secure appropriate next steps.
• Coordinate compliant account activities with field partners.
• Communicate complex scientific and clinical information in a clear and credible manner.
• Implement approved promotional initiatives and customer interactions in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Assist customers in overcoming gaps in disease awareness, patient identification, referral processes, treatment considerations, and patient support.
• Effectively influence multiple stakeholders without direct authority and manage resistance in a constructive manner.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to aid care teams in navigating appropriate patient journey barriers.
• Identify and escalate customer, access, and patient support challenges.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather actionable insights from the field to inform strategy, messaging, training, resource allocation, customer experience, and execution.
• Participate in business reviews, training sessions, team meetings, launch preparations, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Demonstrate ownership, self-motivation, resourcefulness, and initiative in a rapidly changing rare-disease landscape.
• Create engagement opportunities, test methodologies, learn swiftly, and translate insights into actionable steps.
• Maintain performance amidst pressure, uncertainty, challenges, and delays.
• Seek constructive feedback, embrace coaching, and continuously enhance clinical, strategic, and sales skills.
• Exemplify ethical conduct, compliance, transparency, inclusion, and respect.
• Bachelor's degree is mandatory; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Over 5 years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• Proven track record of consistently achieving business results in complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science markets.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty fields is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical understanding and capability to learn, retain, and convey intricate disease-state, diagnostic, mechanism-of-action, clinical data, and product knowledge.
• Proficiency in account-based selling within health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Ability to employ insight-led or challenger-style selling techniques to constructively challenge existing practices, influence behaviors, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Familiarity with access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services in rare disease markets.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze performance data, extract insights, develop territory and account strategies, and effectively implement plans in the field.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation, judgment, and the capability to establish trust with sophisticated clients.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, resilient, organized, and adept at prioritizing tasks to perform independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Proven success in cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and adherence to approved promotional practices.
• Valid driver's license and availability to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight trips and occasional weekend commitments.
