This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and implement business plans for your territory that align with national, zone, and regional goals.
• Utilize performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to identify opportunities and refine territory strategy.
• Achieve territory business objectives through effective customer engagement, resource management, and accountability for results.
• Keep customer records, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documentation, and business updates organized and up to date.
• Identify, prioritize, and cultivate high-opportunity accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks.
• Develop and implement tailored account plans that cover patient journeys, stakeholder engagement, clinical decision-making, referral patterns, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
• Establish trust-based relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office staff, and care teams.
• Analyze influence and decision-making processes in complex accounts and secure appropriate follow-up actions.
• Coordinate compliant account activities among field partners.
• Maintain knowledge in rare cholestatic liver disease, including diagnostic pathways, mechanisms of action, clinical data, product knowledge, approved uses, safety, support pathways, reimbursement, and competition.
• Convey complex scientific and clinical information in a clear and credible manner.
• Implement approved promotional initiatives and customer interactions in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Persuade stakeholders, manage resistance, and identify gaps throughout the patient journey.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to assist care teams in navigating appropriate barriers.
• Identify and highlight customer, access, and patient-support challenges.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Capture valuable field insights and contribute to business reviews, training sessions, team meetings, launch readiness, and cross-functional projects.
• Demonstrate ownership, initiative, resourcefulness, and resilience in a fast-paced rare disease environment.
• Exemplify Mirum's values and conduct yourself in an ethical, compliant, transparent, and inclusive manner.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Over 5 years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• Proven track record of consistently achieving business results in complex specialties, rare diseases, orphan drugs, or high-science markets.
• Strong clinical knowledge and the ability to learn, retain, and communicate complex information about disease states, diagnostics, mechanisms of action, clinical data, and products.
• Experience in account-based selling within health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Familiarity with insight-led or challenger-style selling methodologies.
• Working knowledge of access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services in rare disease markets.
• Strong business acumen and the ability to analyze performance data and formulate territory and account strategies.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication abilities, presentation skills, judgment, and trust-building capacity.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, resilient, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks and working independently.
• Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• A commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and adherence to approved promotional practices.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight trips and occasional weekend commitments.
