This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and implement a targeted business plan for your territory that aligns with national, zone, and regional goals.
• Leverage performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to uncover opportunities and refine your territory strategy.
• Achieve territory business objectives through prioritization, customer engagement, resource management, and accountability for outcomes.
• Maintain precise records for customers, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documents, and business updates.
• Identify, prioritize, and cultivate high-potential accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks in both pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Develop and implement tailored account plans that reflect patient journeys, stakeholder involvement, clinical decision-making, referral patterns, access considerations, customer needs, and competitive realities.
• Establish relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office staff, and other members of the care team.
• Analyze influence and decision-making within complex accounts and secure appropriate next steps.
• Coordinate compliant account activities with Mirum field partners.
• Acquire knowledge of rare cholestatic liver diseases, diagnostic pathways, mechanisms of action, clinical data, product details, approved uses, safety information, patient support, access, reimbursement, and competition.
• Accurately and credibly communicate complex scientific and clinical information.
• Implement approved promotional programs and customer interactions in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Influence stakeholders, overcome resistance, and promote disease awareness, patient identification, referrals, treatment considerations, initiation, and persistence.
• Keep patients and caregivers at the core of territory and account decision-making.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to tackle patient-journey obstacles.
• Report recurring customer, access, and patient-support challenges to internal teams.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather and share actionable insights from the field.
• Contribute to business reviews, training programs, team meetings, launch readiness, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Demonstrate ownership, initiative, resourcefulness, resilience, curiosity, coachability, and commitment to Mirum's values and ethical standards.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• Proven track record of consistently achieving business results in a complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science market.
• Strong clinical understanding and the ability to learn, retain, and communicate complex disease-state, diagnostic, mechanism-of-action, clinical-data, and product information.
• Experience in account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Familiarity with insight-led or challenger-style selling methodologies.
• Working knowledge of access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services in rare disease markets.
• Strong business acumen with the capability to interpret performance data and formulate territory and account strategies.
• Exceptional interpersonal, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation, judgment, and relationship-building abilities.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, resilient, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks while performing independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Successful experience collaborating cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and adherence to approved promotional practices.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Willingness to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight stays and occasional weekend commitments.
