This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Achieve robust and sustainable business outcomes while making a significant impact on patient care within a designated territory.
• Cultivate in-depth clinical knowledge and expertise related to rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum's Liver product offerings.
• Identify and focus on high-potential customers, accounts, and referral networks.
• Implement tailored account strategies to enhance disease awareness, facilitate patient identification, and promote treatment initiation and continuity.
• Create and execute territory business plans that align with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Leverage performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access trends, and competitive analysis to uncover opportunities and refine strategies.
• Keep precise records of customer interactions, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documents, and business updates.
• Establish and nurture strategic relationships with accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks in both pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Build trustworthy relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office personnel, and care teams.
• Analyze influence and decision-making processes in complex accounts and secure appropriate follow-up actions.
• Coordinate compliant account activities across Mirum's field partners.
• Clearly and credibly convey complex scientific and clinical information.
• Implement approved promotional initiatives and customer interactions in accordance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Persuade stakeholders without direct authority and effectively address resistance.
• Maintain a patient and caregiver-centric approach in territory and account decisions.
• Collaborate in a compliant manner with Market Access and Patient Services teams.
• Identify and escalate barriers to customer access and patient support.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather actionable insights from the field to inform strategy, messaging, training, resources, customer experiences, and execution.
• Contribute to business reviews, training programs, team meetings, launch readiness, and cross-functional projects.
• Demonstrate ownership, self-drive, resourcefulness, and initiative in a rapidly changing rare disease landscape.
• Create opportunities for engagement, experiment with new approaches, learn swiftly, and turn insights into action.
• Maintain performance under pressure and uncertainty while focusing on long-term objectives.
• Seek feedback, embrace coaching, and continually enhance clinical, strategic, and selling skills.
• Exemplify Mirum's values and commitment to ethical behavior, compliance, transparency, inclusion, and respect.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
• Proven history of consistently achieving business results in a complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science market.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty markets is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical understanding and the ability to learn, retain, and communicate intricate disease state, diagnostic, mechanism-of-action, clinical data, and product information.
• Experience in account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Ability to apply insight-driven or challenger-style selling techniques to constructively challenge the status quo, influence behavior, and enhance customer decision-making.
• Familiarity with access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services in rare disease markets.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to interpret performance data, uncover insights, develop territory and account strategies, and translate plans into actionable field execution.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication abilities, presentation skills, sound judgment, and the capability to build trust with sophisticated customers.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, resilient, organized, and capable of prioritizing tasks and performing independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Proven success in collaborating cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and adherence to approved promotional practices.
• A valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight trips and occasional weekend commitments.
