This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Drive robust and sustainable business outcomes while making a meaningful impact on patients in a designated territory.
• Cultivate clinical and account knowledge in rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum's Liver portfolio.
• Identify and prioritize key customers, accounts, and referral networks with high potential.
• Implement tailored account strategies that promote disease awareness, patient identification, treatment consideration, initiation, and ongoing care.
• Formulate and execute territory business plans that align with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Leverage performance analytics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to refine territory strategy.
• Maintain detailed customer records, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documents, and business updates.
• Develop strategic relationships with accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks in both pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Establish trusted connections with healthcare professionals and care teams.
• Map out influence and decision-making processes within complex accounts and secure appropriate follow-up actions.
• Coordinate compliant account activities in collaboration with field partners.
• Clearly and credibly convey complex scientific and clinical information.
• Implement approved promotional initiatives and customer interactions in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Identify gaps in disease-awareness, referral, treatment, access, and patient support.
• Influence various stakeholders constructively without direct authority and manage resistance effectively.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to assist care teams in navigating patient-journey barriers.
• Forge partnerships with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather actionable insights from the field and contribute to business reviews, training, team meetings, launch readiness, and cross-functional projects.
• Act with ownership, self-motivation, resourcefulness, and initiative in a rapidly changing rare-disease landscape.
• Create engagement opportunities, experiment with new methods, learn quickly, and translate insights into actionable strategies.
• Maintain performance under pressure and uncertainty while staying focused on long-term objectives.
• Seek constructive feedback, embrace coaching, and exemplify Mirum's values and ethical standards.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive sales experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• Proven track record of consistently achieving business results in complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science markets.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty markets is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical aptitude with the ability to learn, retain, and communicate intricate information regarding disease states, diagnostics, mechanisms of action, clinical data, and product knowledge.
• Experience in account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Ability to employ insight-driven or challenger-style selling to constructively challenge the status quo, influence behaviors, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Knowledge of access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services in rare disease markets.
• Strong business acumen with the capacity to interpret performance data, derive insights, develop territory and account strategies, and execute plans in the field.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication, presentation abilities, and the knack for building trust with sophisticated customers.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, resilient, organized, and capable of prioritizing and performing independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Proven success in collaborating cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, compliance, and adherence to approved promotional practices.
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight trips and occasional weekend commitments.
