This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Achieve robust and sustainable business outcomes while making a significant impact on patient care within a designated territory.
• Cultivate clinical and account knowledge related to rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum's Liver product line.
• Identify and rank customers, accounts, and referral networks with high potential.
• Implement tailored account strategies that promote disease awareness, assist in patient identification, and support treatment initiation and continuity.
• Formulate and execute territory business plans that align with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Utilize performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access conditions, and competitive dynamics to refine territory strategies.
• Keep accurate customer records, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documentation, and business updates.
• Cultivate relationships with health systems, centers of excellence, and referral network accounts in both pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Establish rapport with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office personnel, and care team members.
• Analyze account influence and decision-making processes, define engagement objectives, and ensure appropriate follow-up actions.
• Coordinate compliant account activities in collaboration with Mirum field partners.
• Convey complex scientific and clinical information clearly and credibly to healthcare professionals.
• Implement sanctioned promotional programs and customer interactions in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Persuade stakeholders without direct authority, manage resistance, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Maintain a patient and caregiver focus in all territory and account strategies.
• Work with Market Access and Patient Services to assist care teams in overcoming patient journey obstacles.
• Identify and escalate issues related to customer access and patient support.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather actionable insights from the field and contribute to business assessments, training sessions, team meetings, launch preparedness, and cross-functional projects.
• Demonstrate ownership, initiative, resourcefulness, resilience, curiosity, coachability, and dedication to ethical standards and compliance.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of progressive sales experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
• Proven history of achieving business results in complex specialty markets, rare diseases, orphan drugs, or high-science environments.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty areas is highly desirable.
• Strong clinical knowledge and capability to learn, retain, and articulate complex information regarding disease states, diagnostics, mechanisms of action, clinical data, and product details.
• Experience with account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare practitioners.
• Ability to employ insight-driven or challenger-style selling techniques to effectively question the status quo, influence behavior, and promote customer decision-making.
• Familiarity with access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and services within rare disease markets.
• Strong business insight and the ability to analyze performance data, identify insights, develop territory and account strategies, and translate plans into actionable field execution.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication abilities, presentation skills, judgment, trust-building, self-motivation, resourcefulness, resilience, organization, prioritization, and independent work capabilities.
• Proven success in cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical practices, compliance, and approved promotional methods.
• A valid driver's license and the willingness to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight trips and occasional weekend obligations.
