This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Achieve robust and sustainable business results while making a significant impact on patient care within a designated territory.
• Cultivate expertise in clinical matters and accounts related to rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum's Liver product line.
• Identify and prioritize key customers, accounts, and referral networks with the highest potential.
• Implement tailored account strategies that promote disease awareness, patient identification, treatment consideration, initiation, and ongoing care.
• Develop and execute strategic business plans for the territory that are in line with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Utilize performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access trends, and competitive analysis to refine territory strategies.
• Maintain precise records of customer interactions, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documents, and business updates.
• Establish and nurture relationships with health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks across both pediatric and adult hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Build and sustain trusted relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office staff, and care team members.
• Analyze account influence and decision-making processes, set engagement objectives, and ensure appropriate follow-up actions.
• Coordinate compliant actions across Mirum field partners to enhance account engagement.
• Effectively communicate complex scientific and clinical information to healthcare professionals in a clear and credible manner.
• Implement approved promotional programs and engage with customers in accordance with company policies and regulations.
• Influence stakeholders, address resistance, and identify gaps throughout the patient journey.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to assist care teams in overcoming patient support challenges.
• Elevate recurring customer access and patient support challenges to internal teams for resolution.
• Partner with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Gather actionable insights from the field and contribute to business reviews, training sessions, team meetings, launch preparations, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Demonstrate ownership, initiative, resilience, curiosity, coachability, and a commitment to Mirum's ethical and inclusive values.
• A Bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Over 5 years of progressive sales experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sector.
• Proven track record of consistently delivering successful business outcomes in a complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science market.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty markets is desirable.
• Strong clinical understanding and the ability to learn, retain, and convey intricate disease-state, diagnostic, mechanism-of-action, clinical-data, and product information.
• Experience in account-based selling within health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and key healthcare professionals.
• Proficient in using insight-led or challenger-style selling techniques to constructively challenge the status quo, influence behavior, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Knowledge of access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and services available in rare disease markets.
• Strong business acumen with an ability to analyze performance data, extract insights, develop territory and account strategies, and translate plans into effective field execution.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, and capabilities in communication, presentation, judgment, trust-building, self-motivation, resourcefulness, resilience, organization, prioritization, and independent performance.
• Proven success in cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• A commitment to ethical practices, compliance, and adherence to approved promotional guidelines.
• A valid driver's license and the capacity to travel up to 70%, which includes frequent overnight stays and occasional weekend commitments.
