This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Drive robust and sustainable business outcomes while making a significant impact on patient care within a designated territory.
• Gain clinical and account knowledge related to rare cholestatic liver diseases and Mirum's Liver product line.
• Identify and focus on high-potential customers, accounts, and referral networks.
• Implement tailored account strategies that promote disease awareness, assist in patient identification, facilitate treatment considerations, and ensure treatment initiation and persistence.
• Create and execute territory business plans that align with national, zone, and regional objectives.
• Leverage performance metrics, customer insights, market intelligence, access dynamics, and competitive trends to refine territory strategies.
• Maintain accurate customer records, forecasts, expense reports, administrative documents, and business updates.
• Cultivate strategic relationships with accounts, health systems, centers of excellence, and referral networks in the fields of hepatology and gastroenterology.
• Foster relationships with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, office personnel, and care teams.
• Navigate influence and decision-making processes within complex accounts and secure appropriate next steps.
• Coordinate compliant account activities with field partners.
• Convey complex scientific and clinical information with accuracy and credibility.
• Implement approved promotional programs and engage customers in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
• Persuade stakeholders, overcome resistance, and enhance customer decision-making.
• Keep the focus on patients and caregivers in all territory and account-related decisions.
• Collaborate with Market Access and Patient Services to assist care teams in addressing patient-journey challenges.
• Elevate consistent customer, access, and patient-support challenges to internal teams.
• Collaborate with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, Analytics, and Advocacy.
• Capture valuable field insights to inform strategy, messaging, training, resources, customer experience, and execution.
• Participate in business reviews, training sessions, team meetings, launch preparations, and cross-functional projects.
• Exhibit ownership, initiative, resourcefulness, resilience, and a commitment to continuous learning.
• Exemplify Mirum's values through ethical, compliant, transparent, inclusive, and respectful behavior.
• A bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
• Over 5 years of progressive sales experience within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors.
• Proven track record of consistently achieving business results in complex specialty, rare disease, orphan drug, or high-science markets.
• Experience in rare diseases is highly preferred; familiarity with hepatology, gastroenterology, pediatric specialty care, or other complex specialty markets is strongly desired.
• Strong clinical understanding and the ability to learn, retain, and convey complex disease-related, diagnostic, mechanism-of-action, clinical data, and product information.
• Experience in account-based selling across health systems, centers of excellence, multidisciplinary care teams, referral networks, and influential healthcare professionals.
• Ability to apply insight-led or challenger-style sales techniques to positively challenge the status quo, influence behaviors, and facilitate customer decision-making.
• Knowledge of access and reimbursement dynamics, patient support pathways, and patient services in rare disease sectors.
• Strong business acumen with the capability to interpret performance data, extract insights, formulate territory and account strategies, and translate plans into actionable field execution.
• Outstanding interpersonal skills, emotional intelligence, communication abilities, presentation skills, judgment, and the capacity to build trust with a diverse customer base.
• Self-driven, resourceful, resilient, organized, and capable of prioritizing and performing independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
• Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration with Medical Affairs, Market Access, Patient Services, Marketing, Commercial Training and Effectiveness, Operations, and Analytics.
• Commitment to ethical behavior, compliance, and approved promotional practices.
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 70%, including frequent overnight travel and occasional weekend obligations.
